To the Pastor of ____________ : 

Due to the announcement of the removal and forbiddance of the use of the Altar Rails throughout our Diocese, as promulgated in Bishop Martin’s “Pastoral Letter on Holy Communion,” issued December 17, 2025 and labeled Prot. No. B 339/25, which I find to be an infringement upon my right to kneel to receive Holy Communion and a contradiction of the established norms and traditions of the universal Church, of which the Diocese of Charlotte is a part, I hereby ask that you halt the implementation of Prot. No. B 339/25 at our parish, and that you inform the Bishop that this action on his part does not appear to the Faithful of the Diocese to be the actions of a loving Shepherd but those of a dictatorial legislator whose concern is not first for the salvation of souls.
