Write to the ArchBishop

In the light of the current situation, in which the Archbishop intends to cancel all parish-based TLMs in the Diocese, we encourage all the Faithful to quickly contact the Bishop via letter and email. With the July 1st deadline looming, immediate action on the part of the Faithful is encouraged.

It is appropriate (and encouraged by the Church) that the Faithful make known their concerns to the members of the Church’s hierarchy.

Please appeal to the Bishop to reconsider his decision not to seek from Rome a renewal of the TLM permissions and grant full access, throughout the Diocese, to this highly-desired and most sacred, ancient, and enduring form of the Sacred Liturgy.

The Faithful should write to the Bishop weekly until this issue is addressed in favor of the Faithful who deserve the Bishop’s support and assistance in this matter.

It is important for the Faithful to be sure to compose their letters in a respectful and humble tone, yet also clear and direct. The Bishop is a Successor of the Apostles and is due honor and respect. We should write to the Bishop as to one whom we love, expecting that he will reply with a reciprocal Christian charity.

Faithful Advocate strongly opposes any disrespect toward ecclesiastical superiors.

A sample letter can be viewed here, printed, signed, and mailed or to the Archbishop.
